Pouilly-Fumé’s unique terroir, with its flinty soils and proximity to the Loire River, produces some of the world’s most captivating Sauvignon Blancs—wines defined by their smoky aromas, vibrant acidity, and intense citrus flavors.
Domaine Raimbault-Pineau, located in Sury-en-Vaux, is a benchmark producer, crafting wines that embody the essence of this terroir. The estate’s vineyards span three distinct soil types: Caillottes (calcareous and rocky, adding finesse), Terres Blanches (clay and fossil-rich, contributing complexity), and Silex (flinty, imparting a signature smoky minerality).
The 2023 vintage benefited from favorable growing conditions, allowing for exceptional aromatic expression and balance. Sourced from the prestigious Les Moutonneaux vineyard, this cuvée highlights the crisp citrus, flinty minerality, and refined structure that define great Pouilly-Fumé. The wine undergoes cool-temperature fermentation and extended lees aging in stainless steel, enhancing its purity and depth.
Now led by 13th-generation winemaker Sonia Raimbault, the estate maintains a commitment to sustainability and precision winemaking, ensuring each bottle reflects the unique character of its terroir. The 2025 ‘Cuvée Exception’ is a vibrant, structured, and beautifully expressive Sauvignon Blanc, ideal for both early enjoyment and short-term aging.
Aging: Stainless steel tanks at 14°-16°C, aged on fine lees until bottling.
