About The Wine

Hacienda La Lomita sits on a northwestern-facing slope in Valle de Guadalupe, nine miles from the Pacific, founded in 2009 by Fernando Perez Castro on some of the region's oldest vines.

The estate has been certified organic since 2012 — a rarity in Baja — and is helmed by winemaker Gustavo Gonzalez, who spent the early 2000s as head winemaker for Italy's legendary Super Tuscan Masseto.

This 2025 Sauvignon Blanc is 90% Sauvignon Blanc with 10% French Colombard, fermented in stainless steel for four weeks and aged an additional ten months on the lees.

Valle de Guadalupe's proximity to the Pacific brings cool maritime fog that slows ripening and keeps acidity bright — the reason Baja Sauvignon Blanc punches well above its price point against coastal California fruit that costs twice as much.

Tropical fruit, citrus blossom, and herb garden aromatics lift off the glass. Bright acidity and a light body make this the kind of wine that disappears fast at the table — in the best way.

THE PRODUCER

Hacienda La Lomita

Hacienda La Lomita was founded in 2009 by Fernando Pérez Castro in the heart of Valle de Guadalupe, Baja, Mexico, north of Ensenada and approximately nine miles from the Pacific near the village of San Antonio de las Minas.

The winery and its estate vineyards are on a northwestern-facing slope in the ejido of Francisco Zarco. The estate grows some of the region's oldest vines. The estate has practiced organic viticulture since 2012 and is one of the region's few certified organic wineries.

The vineyard sits at about 1,000 feet in elevation with a soil profile consisting of a mix of clay and granite. Hacienda la Lomita was built just past San Antonio de las Minas, between the hills of the community of San Marcos.
