About The Wine

Here's a party trick for your next dinner: pour this, then mention it's made from Nebbiolo — the same grape behind Barolo, Italy's most collectible, cellar-for-decades red. Watching the Barolo crowd do a double-take is half the fun.

Almost nobody turns Nebbiolo into a rosé. It's a diva grape — thin-skinned, late-ripening, usually saved for wines that cost a fortune with age. La Bollina picks it early, presses it gently like a white, and ferments it cool in steel to lock in freshness. What lands in the glass is a bright salmon-pink rosé that still carries Nebbiolo's backbone: a little grip, real structure, none of the watery simplicity most pink wine settles for.

The estate is worth the story too. 120 hectares in Alto Monferrato, once home to the Marchioness Figari of Genova, now a working winery wrapped around a villa, a golf course, and chestnut woods. Serious pedigree. Unserious price.

100% Nebbiolo. Bright salmon in the glass, with a nose of wild strawberry, fresh cherry, and spring flowers. The palate is dry and savory — crisp red-berry fruit, a whisper of Nebbiolo grip, and a clean, refreshing finish. Serve well-chilled, 10–12°C.
