2005 Domaine Phillipe Brisbarre Vouvray Demi-Sec Chenin Blanc

About the Wine

From the former leader of the Vouvray association, Brisbarre has old vine Chenin that is the star of the Loire. This off-dry chenin will live forever.

Tasting Notes: This opulent wine is a blend of pale green and white gold in color. The big aroma blends peach, pear, apricots, honey and beeswax all leading to explosive fruit on the palate— quince, a hint of dates and licorice. It fills the mouth with fruit and honey in balance with muted tannins. It is off-dry (sugar and acid in dialogue) light, elegant and structurally complex. It will last for many years. You might consider it with dessert or even, as dessert.
