2016 Brookman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon —A heady mix of blackberry, spiced plums, tobacco, and new wood cedar is joined by sage and spearmint with hints of dark cacao. Medium to full-bodied with extremely pleasant, substantial, fine-grained tannins. Juicy blueberry, pie spices, ironstone, and cool, wet slate minerals fuel the tension-filled finish. The Brookman Wine Co. is spearheaded by winemaker Gary Brookman, with wines typically aged for around 22 months in a mix of new French oak.
