About the Wine
Founded in the 1920s by Pellegrino Capari in the village of Montalto, Caprari has always been a winery of excellence. Harvesting rare quality grapes and cultivating high-quality wines, thus reaching the perfect balance between production and standard.
The company's history dates back to the second half of the Nineteenth Century with the Medici family when Remigio Medici and his sons started to pursue the dream of producing wine.
The winery rapidly gained success. In 1911 they won the Menzione d'Onore (Honorable Mention) and Medaglia d'Oro Croce al Merito (The Gold Medal Cross to the Merit) at the International Expo in Rome.
The company opened to foreign trade thanks to its strategic investments and vision. Nowadays, their products have international recognition in more than 30 countries. In addition, to satisfy their commercial requirements, the company's name changed from "Remigio Medici and sons" to "Ca De'Medici."
Later, in 2006 the winery purchased Capari, a precious winery in Emilia Romagna recognized for its ability to grow grapes and produce Lambrusco wines.
The wines of Ca `de' Medici are highly appreciated in Italy because of their authentic quality, which is their signature stamp. In 2011, on the 100th anniversary of Expo Rome Italy, they launched their new product, "Reggio Family Lambrusco."
Caprari 'Bollino Rosso' Lambrusco Reggiano Secco Emilia-Romagna is a Lambrusco produced with Lambrusco Reggiano Ancellota and Lambrusco Salamino grapes. It usually tends to have some sweet notes due to the contribution of the Ancellotta grape. Fermentation with a tank makes it a sparkling, pleasant, and easy drink wine for any demanding palate. Drink it chill and your dinners will never be boring!
Tasting Notes: 70% Salamino and 30% Ancellotta. Caprari 'Bollino Rosso' Lambrusco Reggiano Secco Emilia-Romagna is produced by the Charmat Method “Tank Method” fermented in stainless steel. It is a sparkling wine with a subtle evanescent foam and fine bubbles. It has rich aromas of mixed ripe fruit. Fresh, pleasantly drinkable in the mouth, with good persistence in the finish. This wine pairs perfectly with meat, slow-cooking sauces, and venison.
Reviews
Black tea and wet earth character with hints of blackberry and stone comes through strongly on the palate. Medium body, lots of bubbles, and a fresh finish. Intense yet clean and savory. Drink now. ~91 James Suckling
