About The Wine

Champagne Henriot was founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, a widow whose Grand Cru Pinot Noir holdings in Verzy, Verzenay, and Mailly-Champagne formed the House's original foundation. In 1880, the marriage of Paul Henriot to Marie Marguet brought three Chardonnay Grand Cru villages into the family — Chouilly, Avize, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — uniting the two greatest terroirs of Champagne under one name. These six founding Grand Crus remain the DNA of the House today.

The Blanc de Blancs is Henriot's signature non-vintage expression — 100% Chardonnay drawn from those founding Grand Cru parcels, aged on lees to develop depth and texture. The high Chardonnay component delivers the precision and elegance Henriot is known for: taut minerality, citrus drive, and the kind of chalky backbone that makes grower Champagne worth the cork pull.

The nose shows sourdough, acacia, citrus peel, apricots, and honeycomb. The palate balances bright lemon and green apple acidity with a creamy mousse, finishing long with toasted almond and frank minerality. Sharp, well-balanced, and harmonious — built for the table or the cellar.

93 points from Wine Spectator. This is grower Champagne from one of the region's oldest family houses, at a price that makes buying by the case the smart move. FREE shipping on 12 bottles.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

Elegant, refreshing and harmonious, with a lacy mousse and notes of apricot, lime peel, quince and biscuit. Well-honed by chiseled acidity, this expands nicely through the mineral-driven finish. Drink now through 2029. 13,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported. ~93 Wine Spectator

Lovely freshness and creaminess with notes of lemons, green apples, biscuits and chalk. Very drinkable blanc de blancs, with a medium body, fine bubbles and bright acidity. Clear, balanced and focused finish. 100% chardonnay. Base 2016. Disgorged November 2022. Drink now. ~92 James Sukcling

In 1880, Paul Henriot married Marie Marguet, a young vinegrower from a family owning Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, bringing three Chardonnay Grand Cru villages to the estate: Chouilly, Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
