About the Wine
Bodega Polo is a new BHW Direct Import from a winery with a long history and vineyards located in the Beverly Hills of Uco Valley in La Consulta. After fully renovating and upgrading an existing winery property in 2011, the family has relaunched with incredible hand-drawn labels that tell the story of their Heritage and Work on the land amongst the vines.
The Polo's say, "Herencia means Inheriting, which implies staying together through time, honoring our family values. TRABAJO means Work. Sun, water from the Andes, good people. All this inhabits each and every bottle. Believe it, there’s life in there, there are hidden sensations and there’s joy."
Tasting Notes
Made in the Charmat method with 2 months on the less in stainless tank, this is an excellent value bubbly. Other than Cremant de Bourgogne in France, I'm hard pressed to think of where there is better value Pinot Noir bubbles than in Argentina. It's a little secret that the Argentines have been keeping to themselves. The wine has a light elegant lift with plums, cherries and raspberries on the nose. There is a fine and persistent perlage.
This is a very well made wine of pedigree wrapped in a value price. If we sold it for $30, we'd probably sell more!
Vines: 20+ year old from 3000+ feet toward the Andes
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
