Poggio al Tesoro is a Bolgheri-based estate from one of Italy's most prestigious families, the Allegrini's. The family has played a leading role in Valpolicella since the 16th century and has handed down years of expertise from generation to generation. Today, the Allegrini family is internationally recognized as one of Italy's most successful family estates whose wines consistently receive critical praise from the most prominent critics. The 2012 Dedicato a Walter is a unique and captivating expression of 100% Cab Franc that will have your pallet singing from sip to sip.

Bolgheri is a world-famous area producing wines that capture the imagination of a cosmopolitan clientele. Bolgheri's terroir, with its proximity to the sea and the particularly favorable exposure to the sun, allows Cabernet Franc to thrive. In this microclimate, Cabernet Franc vinified as a single varietal enhances its spicy nuances and gains elegance and depth. The wine is named after Walter Allegrini and symbolizes the love he felt for this land.

Aging: 22 months in new French Oak

This is the winery’s most important wine, produced with 100% Cabernet Franc, and dedicated by Marilisa and Franco to their late brother Walter. Its richness is evident at first sight, confirmed on the nose by perfectly interwoven, profound aromas of blackberried fruit, pepper, and balsamic hints of eucalyptus. The palate astonishes for its ability to sustain this imposing structure with a light tartness, making it both powerful and agile.
