A captivating balancing act, this blend of fruit from the Camp Meeting Ridge estate and other coastal sites feels at once concentrated and weightless. The first impression is one of healthy, plump fruit-ripe apricot, perhaps a hint of caramelized sugar-but it hews to a clean line, the flavors growing more earthy as taut acidity pulls toward crisp, green-tinged suggestions of seashells and borage flowers. More than the flavors themselves, it’s the overall impression of satiny grace that gives this coastal white its beauty. ~93 Wine & Spirits

The 2013 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is a gorgeous entry-level offering. Lemon peel, white pepper, white flowers and pears meld together in an effortless, precise Chardonnay long on personality and real class. The flavors are bright, focused and nuanced throughout. The Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is made mostly from purchased fruit, but it is nevertheless a terrific entry-level wine that captures the house style nicely. Flowers is another estate that excels with Chardonnay in 2013. All three wines in this lineup are fabulous. In particular the two selections from Camp Meeting Ridge - a site originally developed by Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer and planted with old selections of Wente from Larry Hyde's vineyard - show just how magical this site is for top-notch Chardonnay. ~92 Vinous

Young and light, with a nutty coating around flavorful layers of pear and yellow apple, this wine has a crispness that remains balanced throughout. A good food wine, with enough acidity to stay refreshing, this is a fine, fairly larger-production white built to impress. ~91 Wine Enthusiast
