About the Wine

The Dulon family has been producing wine for over 250 years in the Entre Deux Mers. The family purchased Château du Vallier in 2004 along with 20 hectares situated on the slopes of the Garonne, perfectly rested on the famous Bordeaux Terroir. The 2015 Château du Vallier is the epitome of a diamond in the rough, an estate that has captured a unique microclimate from a region where quality wine is often overlooked. Let this complex flavor of this Cotes de Bordeaux explode across your palate like a supernova and change the way you see this underrated terroir.

The Château du Vallier located in Langoiran is one of the premier terroirs in the Côtes de Bordeaux. These 20 hectares located on the heights of the Garonne continuously produce exquisite fruit guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. Ancient deposits of alluvium and gravel from the Garonne river make-up the diverse soils of this unique terroir and allow the grapes to express this one-of-a-kind soil combination. The complexities in this wine can only be captured from this district soil. The 2015 Château du Vallier will continue to do what it has always done, over-deliver and fill your palate with jubilation.

Aging: 12 months in French & American Oak Barrels

Tasting Notes

Red Wine. 60% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Malbec. This Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux has a deep red color with purple reflections and a nose with notes of black fruits and vanilla. The mouth is full, smooth, and spicy. The finish is long and powerful. This wine will be appreciated with red meat and game such as deer or wild boar.

Critical Reviews

Currants and milk chocolate with rose-petal aromas follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins, and a flavorful finish. Needs two or three years to soften. All here. Drink in 2021. ~92 James Suckling
