It comes from Bodegas Pastor Díaz in Aldeanueva de Ebro, a family that's been working Rioja vines since the 1800s. The fruit grows on the pebbly, chalk-clay slopes of Monte Yerga — low yields, old plots, the good stuff.

In the glass it's classic Rioja: Tempranillo-led, rounded out with Graciano and a touch of Mazuelo. Ripe dark fruit folded into coconut, vanilla, sweet spice and that savory tobacco-and-mineral edge only real bottle age gives you.
