About the Wine
Clients often ask for a delicious daily drinking wine under $30. This is an example of a wine I can suggest. This is a direct import item that was carefully chosen after extensive tastings in the Montsant region, which is located about two hours west of Barcelona.
Domini de Cartoixa is a winery group in the NE Spain. They produce award winning, 90+ rated wines under the Clos Galena label. This is a second label for their nearby Montsant project.
Balance is key to making great wine, at all price points. This wine has a vibrancy and freshness, but it is also a serious blend that over-delivers in quality. If you're looking for that anytime wine with heft and depth, as well as layers of intrigue, this is it.
Aged for 4 months in French and American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Intense and bright red in color, the nose is a balance of ripe blue fruits, vanilla and notes of licorice and spices.
On the palate the notes of red fruits stand out. Its velvety character and the softness of its tannins make this wine very easy to drink. Fresh, with a good acidity and nice length. Serve lightly chilled.
Blend: Grenache noir (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Syrah (15%), Carignan (30%)
