About the Wine

Mira Winery—a name inspired by the Latin root of “miracle” and Greek for “destiny”—is a family-owned, 16-acre estate in the heart of the Napa Valley. The estate has an emphasis on single-vineyard wines and sustainable production techniques. This wine is built for the cellar with extreme agability, that being said it is a hedonist's dream right now.

Mira Winery is one of Napa Valley’s most exciting under-the-radar, must-visit newcomers, located just south of the town of Yountville. Opened in late 2019, the architecture showcases the perfect proportions of the Golden Ratio in a serene setting constructed from natural California gold stone and reclaimed roof tile from a century-old French villa.  

Mira releases limited quantities of select wines each year direct from the winery representing their single vineyard, single varietal approach to winemaking. Made with the enthusiastic collector in mind, these wines are built to age from 15 to 30 years but confidently drinkable upon release. Winemaker Gustavo A. Gonzalez, uses 100% French oak with varying degrees of new oak, grain types, toasts, and barrel-aging all carefully selected to develop complexity and complement the inherent qualities of exceptional fruit from superior sites throughout Napa Valley. 

Tasting Notes: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense fresh aromatics of sweet and dried fruit are balanced by notes of black pepper and cigar box. On the palate, the wine shows its bold structure and bracing acidity, a window into the tremendous potential for this wine to evolve as it ages.

Reviews

This impressively structured wine, with just 3% Petit Verdot, is ample in a robust blackberry jam tone. Iron, tobacco, lavender, and dried herb ride along the midpalate with ease. The black pepper on the finish is additionally on point. Enjoy from 2026–2036. ~95 Wine Enthusiast
