About the Wine

Located in the beautiful Loire Valley, -also known as “the garden of France” thanks to its rich soils, - you’ll find Chinon, one of the most enchanting cities in the whole country. This beautiful hillside city is located above the waters of the River Vienne and is responsible for producing some of the most delightful Cab Francs in the world.

Chinon is home to Chateau du Coudray, a century-old Château, owned by Pierre de Bournan and his son, that in 2003 was transformed to a modern, state of the art winery. Today, this Château is property by Gilles Feray and Jean Marie Servant.

This beautiful old Château is located in Chinon rouge appellation. The estate is comprises more than 70 acres planted on limestone clay soils, with old-vines. The result is magical: Powerful, aromatic and structured Caberenet Francs.

2017 was a great year for the Loire Valley, Wine Advocate gave it a 95-point review, and Wine Spectator said it was "A solid follow-up to the 2015 and 2016 duo, reds are fresh and charming."

Tasting Notes100% Cabernet Franc. Scents of black fruit and vanilla. On the palate, fresh, elegant, and refined, with soft, fruity, pleasing notes of blackcurrant and spice. This wine pairs lovely with grilled red meat, turkey, cheddar, and gouda.
