About the Wine
Chile is the leader when it comes to best-value wines in the world. However, it’s not only the amazing prices that make us love this country so much, but it’s also the outstanding quality that they deliver. Wine Enthusiast called out this country saying that "in fact, some of its red varietals and blends can compete with the great wines of the New and Old World."
Elqui valley is a paradise on earth, -and I’m not just saying this because this region enjoys one of the most beautiful skies landscapes in the world, - but it's also a paradise for wine lovers. Thanks to its spectacular terroir, this region produces some of the most outstanding red wines in all of Chile. Elqui valley is located east of the Pacific Ocean, south of the Atacama Desert, and west of the Andes Mountain range (talk about impressive locations!)
Elqui wines are crafted by talented winemaker Steffan Jorgensen and his Chilean wife, Pamela Núñez. Steffan, originally from Denmark, forged his expertise at one of Washington’s most awarded wineries, Bergevin Lane. Together, they create these Chilean gems, crafted from fruit coming from their 20-acre vineyard in the beautiful Elqui Valley.
is a single vineyard Syrah from Maitén. This vineyard is located in a privileged terroir with rocky, sandy, ancient soils. There's a reason why wineries are leaving Casablanca for Elqui Valley, and this wine exemplifies why.
Aging: 100% barrel aged with a mix of new, 1st and 2nd use French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels for 24 months.
Tasting Notes: 100% Syrah. Showing strong varietal notes of smoky bacon, black olives, and violets. It’s heady, ripe, and voluptuous, very intense, with pungent olive flavors and a dense texture. A beautiful Chilean Syrah.
