Sideral comes from vineyards that stretch outward from the Altaïr winery in Alto Cachapoal. And this year, in another very good, cool vintage with volumes as high as in 2021, it displays a very fruity and very floral side at the same time. This year’s blend is 71% cabernet sauvignon, 21% syrah, 5% petite verdot, and the rest is carmenere and cabernet franc. With 100% of the wine aged in different vessels (eggs, amphorae, foudres, and barrels) this is perhaps the freshest and fruitiest version we can recall, even more so than the 2021, which was already displaying this major shift in style toward the fresher and livelier side. There’s lots of red fruit here and lots of herbs and flowers, along with nervy, taut, sharp tannins and acidity that adds a crunchy character. An excellent version of Sideral, perhaps the best to date since it was launched to market in 2002. ~ 96 Descorchados
Vibrant plums, cherries and touches of white pepper, stone and hibiscus flowers. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with fresh, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant, almost brambly finish. 71% cabernet sauvignon, 21% syrah, 5% petit verdot, 2% carmenere and 1% cabernet franc. Drink now. ~ 93 James Suckling
An attractive version, with river stone and fresh floral details melding with red currant and raspberry flavors, all enlivened by fresh acidity. This unlocks additional layers of orange peel, rosemary and cassis and finishes with presence and length, adding subtle dark chocolate notes around refined tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Carmenère and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2032. 30,000 cases made, 2,500 cases imported. ~ 93 Wine Spectator
The 2022 Sideral is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Carménère and 1% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the Totihue Vineyard in the Cachapoal Andes. Fifty-five percent of the wine underwent barrel aging, while the remainder aged infoudresand amphorae. This garnet red wine reveals notes of currant andboldo, with a deepgarrigue-like layer. Dry, juicy and finely structured due to its reactive tannins, it offers a lingering finish with a mild and savory character. The 2022 vintage showcases the most compact mouthfeel yet for this cuvée." ~ 93 Vinous Media

This blend comes from the Cachapoal Andes, a valley located south of Maipo near the Andes Mountain range. The nose offers aromas of cherries and delicate hints of roses. The soft mouthfeel is complemented by flavors of red raspberries and dried herbs that linger in the finish. ~ 91 Wine Enthusiast
