The wine contains grapes from a number of Sonoma vineyards—this year, ten. Unlike the Ridge single-vineyard wines, which reflect the distinctive character of each site, Three Valleys represents the blending of vineyards; winemaking at its finest. Zinfandel determines the wine’s varietal character; old-vine carignane contributes bright fruit and acidity; and petite sirah adds spice, depth of color, and firm tannins. This wine is like a freshly showered 20 something on a Saturday night, this beauty is well put together.
Tasting Notes: Deep garnet color. Fresh raspberry and cherry fruits, barrel spice, clay minerals, and fresh mint. Sweet red berry fruit entry, medium body, lively acid, and supple tannins. Long, elegant finish.
