Billecart-Salmon is one of the few Champagne houses that can claim two centuries of uninterrupted family vision — seven generations, all adhering to the same motto: give priority to quality, strive for excellence. The U.S. was one of their first export markets and remains one of their most important, which is why this 2018 250th Anniversary Cuvee exists at all.

This bottling marks two milestones at once: the house's 200th birthday and the 250th anniversary of American independence. It's available exclusively in the U.S. market, with the Statue of Liberty on the label acknowledging a relationship that has lasted as long as the house itself. Once the allocation is gone, it won't be made again.

The 2018 growing season in Champagne delivered record-breaking heat and the earliest harvest on record — conditions that typically produce rounder, more generous wines. Billecart countered with precision: 100% Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit, 65% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims for depth and structure, 35% Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs for elegance and mineral backbone. Ninety-seven percent was vinified in stainless steel to preserve freshness, then aged 63 months sur latte with a restrained 4.9 g/L dosage.

The result is a Champagne that walks the line between richness and precision. The nose leads with crushed rock minerality and toasted sourdough, the palate mouth-filling and chalky with laser-sharp acidity. Yellow peach, red berry, honeysuckle, and citrus fold into a persistent finish where nothing lingers alone.
