Gaël produces wine using sustainable agricultural methods and eco-friendly practices showing unwavering respect for the environment. Jean Philippe Faure, a consultant working for the Michel Rolland Laboratory, gives expert advice on wine-making processes and grape-growing.
Aging: 12 months in 50% new French Oak.
Tasting Notes: 100% Merlot. Brilliant purple color. The bouquet is both powerful and refined, expressed in oaky, fruity, and spicy notes in tone with the region and the vintage. The palate is balanced. Its warm character is underpinned by the roundness of the dark rich fruit and very elegant tannins.
Ripe dark fruit on the nose, as well as some blue-fruit, vanilla, and toasty aromas. Iodine and tar, too.Full-bodied and juicy with firm, chewy tannins and a fresh finish. Savory. A traditional feel to this. ~95 James Suckling
Lots of ripe blue fruits, rare steak, smoke tobacco, and chocolate notes emerge from the 2018 Château Tour Maillet (Lagardere),a ripe, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced Pomerol with solid mid-palate depth and outstanding length. Building nicely with time in the glass, it has ripe, focused tannins, a solid spine of acidity, and a good balance between its fruit and structure. It's relatively closed for business at the moment, so give bottles 3-5 years if possible, and it should shine over the following decade. ~91+ Jeb Dunnuck
