2019 Ca' Rome’ di Romano Marengo Barbaresco Maria di Brün

Founded in 1980 by Romano Marengo, Ca’ Rome’ is a family-run winery perched atop the Rabajà hill in Barbaresco, offering a stunning view of the Langhe region. The estate is now managed by Romano’s children—Giuseppe (Pino), Paola, and Maria—alongside their mother, Olimpia. The family’s deep commitment to tradition and quality is reflected in their meticulous approach to vineyard management and winemaking, with grapes sourced from historic parcels in Barbaresco and Serralunga d'Alba.

Barbaresco is a wine of patience and evolution, and the 2019 Maria di Brün embodies this philosophy with remarkable depth and structure. Crafted in limited production (just 2,200 bottles), this vintage showcases the grace and intensity of Nebbiolo from Barbaresco’s finest terroirs. Aromas of fresh cherries, crushed herbs, wild roses, and balsam rise from the glass, while hints of cinnamon, eucalyptus, and earthy tobacco add layers of intrigue. The linear, precise palate delivers vibrant red berries, pomegranate, and dried citrus peel, wrapped in grippy, chalky tannins and electric acidity.

Aging: 30 months in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak casks, followed by 12 months of bottle aging.
