THE PRODUCER
Chateau Trocard
Château Trocard is heir of the great Bordeaux Supérieur tradition. The wine is produced on the former gravel banks of the Isle River, tributary of the Dordogne River. The soils are the direct continuation of the Pomerol and Saint-Emilion banks. Owner: Benoît Trocard. Property area: 84 acres. The Trocard family has lived to the rhythm of the vine for 4 centuries on the right bank. A first acquisition occurred in 1621, and the great wine adventure of the Trocard family began in 1628. The paternal branch, Trocard, was established in Fronsac, while the maternal branch, Renard, had vineyards in the 'Petit Faurie', a district of Saint-Émilion. At the end of the 18th century, the family came together in Artigues de Lussac and established its headquarters there. In 1976, Jean-Louis Trocard took over management of the family vineyards with his wife Elisabeth.
