2019 Schrader Cellars Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Schrader Cellars is one of the most awarded wineries in the history of American wine. The Schrader name is synonymous with outstanding, high-scoring Napa Valley Cabernet that is very limited and very expensive. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has made so many 100 points and near-perfect wines, we've lost count. 

There is not much to be said about Schrader that hasn't already made headlines. Fred Schrader, an art and antiquity trader, attended the Napa Valley wine auction in the late '90s. He fell in love with Napa and then met Andy Beckstoffer and Thomas Rivers Brown. From that time, they sourced outstanding fruit from the To Kalon vineyard and set the wine world ablaze with some of the most sought-after, collectible, and delicious Napa Valley Cabernets ever created.

The Vintage 2019 in Napa Valley is already looking incredible. It was awarded 95-97 Points by Vinous Media: “Based on early tastings from the barrel, the 2019s are fabulous. The wines feel like they have a little more energy, power, and depth than the 2018s. In some ways, 2019 reminds me of 2010, but not as extreme. It is a highly promising vintage”.

Tasting notes: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This intensely dark and solid wine displays a lavish fruit core with notes of black currants, raspberries, and graphite. The palate carries flavors of mocha and cedary oak mixed with crushed blackberries and other black fruits. This elegant example of the 2019 vintage is a testament to the incredible fruit that is coming from the Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard.
