The origins of Villa Bibbiani stretch back to the Middle Ages, when the estate belonged to a Benedictine monastery. But its modern history began in the 1700s when it was acquired by the Frescobaldi family—Italian royalty known for founding vineyards and planting the iconic botanical garden (which still thrives today) by Cosimo Ridolfi, the father of modern Italian agriculture.

Today, the estate is owned by a doctor from Houston who sold his San Antonio healthcare group to United Healthcare.
