About The Wine

Nestled high in the Alta Langa hills, this sparkling wine is born from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in rare marine soils, giving it a crisp minerality you won’t find in everyday bubbles.

With 93 points, 30+ months of aging, and crafted using the traditional method or "metodo classico" , this Italian sparkling wine rivals the best—without the hefty price tag. If it were Champagne, it would cost three times as much. Crisp, elegant, and effortlessly refined, it’s the perfect choice for those who want luxury without the markup.

Scrimaglio doesn’t just whisper tradition—it shouts it across centuries. The family’s journey began in the 1600s when they fled France for Piedmont. In 1920, Pietro Scrimaglio founded what would become one of Italy’s best-kept secrets in winemaking. His mission? Precision. Character. Clarity. Today, that legacy lives on, bottle after bottle.

Their wines walk the line perfectly—classic structure with just enough modern flair to keep things exciting. Scrimaglio helped resurrect Barbera d’Asti in the ‘80s. Now, their “Nizza” wines are DOCG-level iconic.

And here's where the story really takes off…

A few years ago, we went to Piedmont, on the hunt for wines that truly reflect the region’s character—without the steep price or decades of aging. We wanted wines that were elegant, easy to drink, and timeless.

Enter: Vite Colte, one of the biggest cooperatives in Piedmont and a global standout. Originally called "Terre da Vino," it was revamped to "Vite Colte" in 2016 to make a splash in the wine world. With 180 skilled growers and 300 hectares of vineyards, it's a force in Barolo and beyond.

What sets them apart? Terrific terroir, savvy members, and cutting-edge science mean they produce top-quality wines. Their facility is a blend of tech and art, a must-see for wine and culture lovers. Vite Colte crafts Piedmontese classics like Barbera d'Asti, Barbera d'Alba, Nizza, Roero, Moscato d'Asti, Barolo, and Barbaresco, often named after Cesare Pavese's works. Scrimaglio is Vite Colte's boutique winery where they only pick the very best of the vineyards.

Perfect as an aperitif or paired with seafood and light cheeses, it’s your go-to for celebrations that demand something truly special.

80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay. This sparkling pours a luminous straw yellow, alive with a fine, persistent perlage that captivates at first glance. The nose is a charming mix of crusty bread, fresh yeast, and dried fruit, lifted by delicate floral whispers. On the palate, it’s rich and full-bodied yet balanced by crisp acidity, while the creamy, fine bubbles cleanse the palate and leave a lasting, aromatic finish that keeps you coming back for more
