Founded south of St. Helena in 1996, Hall Wines now farms 300 estate acres across Rutherford, Atlas Peak, and Alexander Valley — handpicking every cluster and deploying modern winemaking to craft wines that speak in a pure, concentrated New World voice.

The 2022 vintage opened with generous winter rain, then delivered temperate, dry months through spring and summer — small canopies, balanced vines, healthy fruit. A Labor Day heat spike accelerated harvest, followed by cooler weather and rain that allowed the remaining grapes to hang longer, yielding polished tannins and beautifully balanced fruit. The result is a vintage marked by fresh acidity and concentrated, pure flavors.

This bottling opens with warm aromas of dusty earth, spice, chocolate, and ripe dark cherry, layered with cassis, mulberry, and plum preserves over hints of Chinese five spice, tapenade, and smoky bacon.

The palate is voluptuous — full-bodied, lush, and opulent, framed by soft, fine-grained tannins and a lengthy finish touched with vanilla. Concentrated dark fruits meet a savory umami character, and the wine's seamless texture drinks beautifully now.
