About the Wine
“But Greco di Tufo isn’t just the grapes. It’s the soils, the hills, the mountains, the climate. It’s many things together.“ ~Wine Spectator
Feudi di San Gregorio stands as one of Campania’s most influential wineries, born in 1986 from a desire to rebuild the spirit of Irpinia after the devastating earthquake. What began as a restoration project quickly evolved into a movement—one that brought new life to the region’s indigenous Italian varietals, ancient traditions, and volcanic landscape.
Today, Feudi farms more than 740 acres of high-altitude vineyards, some planted with century-old vines that survived phylloxera and still grow under the historic pergola system. Their mission is simple yet ambitious: celebrate the identity of Aglianico, Greco, Fiano, and Falanghina by giving each grape the precision, care, and respect it deserves.
This philosophy echoes through every part of the estate, from its B-Corp and Equalitas sustainability certifications to its striking contemporary winery designed by Hikaru Mori, complete with the Michelin-starred Marennà Restaurant, where local ingredients and wine tradition are reimagined for a new generation.
That same sense of place and purpose comes alive in the 2023 Greco di Tufo Riserva, a wine crafted from the prized Cutizzi vineyard, an 8-hectare hillside site shaped by volcanic soils, Mediterranean breezes, and elevations between 400–700 meters.
Here, the Greco di Tufo DOCG grape develops its hallmark tension—bright stone fruit, citrus lift, and a smoky mineral salinity found only in this corner of Southern Italy.
Fermented and aged in stainless steel with months of lees contact, the wine gains texture and depth while preserving its purity. What emerges is a Greco that feels both ancient and modern: vibrant, structured, and unmistakably tied to the volcanic terroir that defines Campania’s most iconic white wines.

Critical Reviews
A spicy white with aromas of minerals, green apples, white pepper and citrus. Medium-bodied, it shows a zesty palate with vibrancy and savoriness. Drink or hold. ~ 93 James Suckling
In the pretty bottle with ribbed glass, the Feudi di San Gregorio 2023 Greco di Tufo Riserva Cutizzi comes from a 10-hectare site with 30-year-old vines. This wine has now been upgraded to Riserva status. It shows pretty fruit, preserved lemon and quince all framed by delicately ashy or volcanic notes from mineral and sulfur-rich soils. It is entirely made in stainless steel with some contact and stirring of the lees. ~ 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The nose is a mix of fresh and cooked green and yellow apples, plus subtle citrus aromas of Meyer lemon and pink grapefruit, and hazelnuts and almonds for a nutty balance. The palate is lively with green apple, lime, salty stones and acid, but also has a waxy mouthfeel which is accentuated by a hazelnut cream finish. ~ 92 Wine Enthusiast
