An opulent, mouth-filling, flavor-saturated wine that's impressively tannic yet polished. It's muscular in structure, packed with black fruits, cocoa, graphite, spearmint and savory woodsy accents. Aged 20 months in 80% new French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Moonracer offers killer aromatics of darker currants, smoky tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil that give this an almost Mouton Rothschild-like style. It's medium to full-bodied with a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and integrated acidity. Very much in the fresher, yet structured style of the vintage, it will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for 30 years or more. Drink 2029-2055. ~ 98 Jeb Dunnuck

From Realm's estate Moonracer Vineyard in Stags Leap District. Fermented in stainless steel and aged 20 months in 80% new French oak. Beautiful savoury aromas of licorice, scorched earth and violets, with a hint of tobacco, all infuse the rich blackberry fruit that lifts out of the glass. On the palate, that wine is quite expressive, offering up a panoply of darkberry fruit that is juicy and succulent, framed by super fine, powdery tannins with building intensity on the lengthy, mineral-scented finish. ~ 97 Decanter

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Moonracer, from Realm's Stags Leap estate vineyard, is superb. Black cherry, crème de cassis, sage, rosemary, licorice and mocha are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass, gently framed by a kiss of oak.
