Crossroads is Rudd’s entry-level wine, yet it is impressively structured in 2023. Oakville’s signature gravelly tannins are very much on display – slightly chewy, lending texture and depth. Pure, ripe black fruit flavours unfold alongside loamy earth and warm Indian spice notes, bringing both intrigue and a comforting sense of completeness to the wine’s polished frame. ~94 Decanter
Perfumed with a floral edge and dark fruit, very expressive and flirtatious. The tightly wound palate has fine-boned tannins and a rounded mouthfeel, with a mineral, earth-driven finish. A wonderful gateway into Rudd. A blend of 76% cabernet sauvignon, 13% cabernet franc, 9% petit verdot and 2% malbec. Drink or hold. ~94 James Suckling
Delivers a blitz of blackberry and red currant paste flavors, along with dark licorice and roasted alder notes, plus a sweet tobacco detail. A charcoal underpinning on the finish gives this an old-school hint. Best from 2028 through 2038. 2,380 cases made. ~93 Wine Spectator

THE PRODUCER
Rudd Oakville Estate
Rudd Winery was founded in 1996 by Kansas businessman Leslie Rudd. Leslie Rudd purchased a 55-acre site on the eastern side of Oakville. The land was previously owned by Steve Girard, a Kaiser Corporation executive who farmed the land for twenty years. Leslie Rudd replanted the vineyard with red Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec). Napa architect Howard Backen was hired to build the winery. Leslie Rudd passed away in 2018, leaving his daughter Samantha as owner. Samantha Rudd hired experienced winemaker Frederick Ammons. Rudd Winery is a 55-acre estate located on the eastern side of the Oakville appellation. The land was originally owned by Steve Girard, a Kaiser Corporation executive who purchased it in 1974. Steve Girard Jr. sold the winery in 1996 to the Rudd family, Leslie and his wife Susan.
