About The Wine

Founded in 1998 by Terry and Mary Peabody, Craggy Range has built a legacy producing exceptional wines from New Zealand's most distinguished sites. The family established a 1,000-year trust to ensure the winery remains under family stewardship for generations — three generations work together today.

Martinborough sits on New Zealand's North Island, a cool-climate region that delivers Sauvignon Blanc with mineral tension and precision — the kind of structure and texture that separates serious examples from the generic tropical fruit bombs flooding the market. Te Muna Road is sourced from higher-elevation terraces where ancient stony soils and maritime influence produce wines with chalky minerality and taut acidity.

The 2025 vintage shows intense Key lime, lemongrass, and pear on the nose, with white nectarine, passionfruit, and blackcurrant leaf.

There's a jalapeno edge and fresh herbs, plus that chalky, wet-stone minerality that makes Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc compelling. The palate is concentrated and precise, with a tightly wound, mouth-watering acid line and a subtle creamy mid-palate from lees work.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

Quivering with fragrant florals, fresh orchard fruits and passionfruit nuance that enrobes the soft, succulence of the palate. Expressive and complex with a fine seam of grapefruit acidity that carries the finely-tuned aromas to the finish.~97 Decanter World Wine Awards

A totally delicious wine, fresh and pure, mineral and silky, vibrant and refreshing, saline and varietal. Aromas and flavours of cape gooseberry and green melon, fresh Thail basil and makrut lime leaf. Crisp, salivating and dry on the finish, balanced and well made with a decent length and lots of style with a fine lees finesse. Best from day of purchase through 2028+. ~ 93 Cameron Douglas
