About The Wine

“Sancerre is home to some of France's tangiest, most thirst-quenching white wines, made from Sauvignon Blanc.” ~Wine Spectator.

Sancerre is an appellation located in the eastern part of the Loire Valley. This appellation produces red and rosé, but it’s undoubtedly the white Sancerre the flagship style of the whole region.

We love Sancerre, and so do some of the most celebrated wine critics in the world, like Robert Parker, who described Sancerre as "a beacon of purity and precision,” or Wine Enthusiast, who said it is "the epitome of elegant white wines.”

Sancerre sits on the eastern edge of the Loire Valley, where Sauvignon Blanc finds its most focused expression. The region's Kimmeridgian limestone soils and cool continental climate produce wines with razor-sharp minerality and aromatic precision — the global reference point for the grape.

This 2025 Domaine Raffaitin-Planchon delivers that classic Sancerre tension: delicate white flowers and orange blossoms on the nose, a touch of exotic fruit on the palate, then a citrusy, mineral-driven finish that lingers. Crisp, focused, and far more rounded than its price would suggest.

The Loire's 2025 vintage arrived with ideal ripeness and natural freshness, and Raffaitin-Planchon captured both in the glass.

Perfect with goat cheese and fish, but just as good on its own. The kind of Sauvignon Blanc that reminds you why Sancerre became the world's measuring stick.
