The 2007 Nebbiolo d’Alba is a big, super-ripe offering loaded with dark fruit wrapped around a generous frame. The round, pure finish caresses the palate with tons of fruit and sheer density. Floral notes add a sense of lift on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015.
The small Roero estate of Annette Hilberg and Michele Pasquero is one of my favorite sources for pure, hand-crafted wines that highlight the unique qualities of this terroir. The estate’s Barbera d’Alba Superiore is often one of the region’s finest, as it is again this year.
