2006 Clos L'Eglise Pomerol

The vineyard is located in a prime location in Pomerol, with clay and gravel soil that is ideal for growing Merlot grapes, which make up the majority of the blend. Back in 1925, the estate was recognized as one of the leading "grands crus" of the appellation, alongside other famous names like l'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan. Since 1997, this estate has been owned by the Garcin-Cathiard family. They have a deep love and respect for the exceptional terroir on which the vineyard sits and work tirelessly to ensure that the grapes are given the best possible chance to shine. The vineyard is managed with sustainable agriculture, and it's HEV3 certified.

Hélène Garcin and Patrice Levêque are the current caretakers of this extraordinary heritage, and their passion for exceptional terroirs is evident in everything they do. They work in a traditional way, understanding that the rarity of fine terroir comes with great responsibility.
