About the Wine
Overlooking the Gironde estuary, Chateau Loumelat is ideally located. Its vineyard benefits from a great sun exposure that guarantees a perfect maturation of the grapes and the production of the finest wines. Located 6 miles North East of the historical city of Blaye, the vines are planted over magnificent sandy-clay and clay-limestone soils composed of several sedimentary layers left by the ocean millions of years ago. Deep and complex, this wine is over-delivering at a price like this.
2015 was an extremely dry vintage with Mother Nature smiling down at exactly the right moment. Bringing rains and leading to an immaculate harvest of ripe and lush reds. 2015 earned a vintage rating of 94 points from Wine Spectator.
Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels
