About the Wine
If you love Ripasso style wines, this Negroamaro from Puglia (the heel of the boot) made in a similar style. After ripe grapes are harvested, the grapes are dried, traditionally on bamboo racks or straw mats, for a few weeks up to several months to concentrate the sugars and flavors. Then, these dried grapes (which now look like and taste like raisins) are fermented and passed over the based wine.
The result is a luxurious, decadent wine full of chocolate, cocoa, sweet blueberries, figs, and dried blackberry flavors. This wine is a ringer for the Orin Swift crowd of wine lovers who love "Prisoner" style wines.
