About the Wine
Based in Provence, Caves d’Esclans identifies vineyards, grapes, and wines from Château d’Esclans as well as local growers to make what has reputedly become the world’s greatest rosé. Their objective is to obtain the highest quality grapes sourced from vineyards treated with the same high standards as the vineyards of Château d’Esclans. As a result, they've become the best selling rosé world wide, and for good reason.
The Whispering Angel Rosé is well regarded in the wine world. Jancis Robinson called it "more palate grabbing by far from the Provencal pink norm." While James Suckling maintains that the wine is "always delicious" ensuring the high quality of the wine is sustained year after year. Yet, I find myself agreeing most with UK based wine critic, Matthew Jukes, who said, "you could drink it from mid-day to midnight.” So grab at least six of these bottles because like myself and wine critics abound, you won't be able to put it down!
Tasting notes: The wine is pale pink driven by alluring aromas of white peach, strawberry, fresh cherry, passionfruit, and tangerine peel. The wine is dry and the palate is silky smooth driven by graceful red fruits, orange citrus, and a hint of honey. The finish is long and crescendoed by delicate wet stone minerality.
