About the Wine

Established in 1596 on the picturesque slopes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur has stood the test of time. Today, Yvan Dufouleur and his uncle Xavier carry on the family legacy, ensuring that each bottle reflects their unwavering commitment to quality.

The Dufouleur family understands that great wine is born in the vineyard. Their 28-acre vineyards (located on prime, even enviable terroir sites, stretching from Fixin to Santenay) are 100% committed to natural farming practices and sustainable viticulture. In 2021, the estate achieved the HVE 3 certification.

Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur takes immense pride in its deep-rooted heritage. With over 400 years of winemaking history, they are custodians of the prestigious Burgundy vineyard climates, classified as a world heritage site. Each bottle tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and the extraordinary wines that have captivated wine lovers throughout the ages. The wines are a testament to the terroir, offering a pure expression of the Burgundy region.

Clos des Perrieres a 1er Cru gem, born in the heart of the prestigious Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. This enchanting vineyard is planted with average 15 years-old vines where the Pinot Noir grapes flourish. Cultivated in light brown soils, the roots of these vines dig deep into a scree of white oolites, imparting a touch of magic to every sip. This Domaine's top wine, that will enchant you from the very first sip!

Aging: 12 months French in barrels, 1/3 new.

Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Dense and sustained color, the freshness and intensity of its fruitiness charm us from its youth. Over the years, the mouth displays an ample and silky roundness. A fruitiness evolving towards macerated cherry, stone, licorice, and fine balsamic scents as well as very fine animal nuances.

Reviews

The slightest hint of tar appears on the nose of this wine before dark red-cherry notes come through alongside subtle smokiness. On the palate, these darker notions are swept up in the purity and crunchy freshness of the juicy fruit, held firm by subtle, fine tannins. This wine is both assertive and elegant. ~93 Wine Enthusiast

The nose is elegant, and fruity and offers a beautiful fruit, a small fleshiness and elegance. It reveals notes of fleshy/juicy violet plum, pulpy cherry, small notes of blackberry associated with small touches of cornflower, lilac, nutmeg as well as very discreet hints of spices and an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, very finely tight and offers juiciness, generosity, suavity, an acidulous frame as well as gourmandize, freshness, tension, an aromatic purity, deepness and a beautiful fleshy/acidulous fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of acidulous/fleshy cherry, pulpy/acidulous raspberry, small notes of juicy blackberry associated with small touches of violet, cornflower as well as fine hints of lily, liquorice stick and toasted. A discreet hint of tonka bean on the finish/persistence. A beautiful wine with beautiful quality of the fruit. ~93 VertdeVin
