About the Offer

Brunello di Montalcino is Sangiovese at its most age-worthy. Belpoggio's 2020 comes from one of Montalcino's freshest recent vintages — structured but balanced, built for the cellar.

Nestled in the breathtaking heart of Tuscany, the Belpoggio estate is a spectacular 10-hectare (24-acre) sanctuary where time-honored tradition meets cutting-edge innovation. Perched 400 meters above sea level in Castelnuovo dell’Abate—just a stone's throw (500 meters) from the historic Abbey of Sant’Antimo—this estate overlooks the majestic Val d'Orcia with sweeping views of Monte Amiata.

Established in 2005, Belpoggio has rapidly ascended the ranks to become one of the most exciting and formidable Brunello producers in all of Italy.

Belpoggio dedicates five pristine hectares exclusively to the legendary Sangiovese grape. The vineyards boast a coveted southwest exposure, bathing the vines in optimal sunlight. Planted on dramatic, rocky slopes, the vines dig deep into soils rich in unique geological skeletons and volcanic tuff. This challenging terrain forces the roots deep, resulting in grapes of unparalleled concentration, complexity, and elegance.

At an altitude of 400 meters, the estate benefits from a unique microclimate that balances warm daytime sun with cooling evening breezes. This natural temperature diurnal shift allows for a slow, perfect ripening process, yielding a Brunello with vibrant acidity, robust structure, and incredible aging potential.

The estate beautifully bridges the past and the future. At its heart lies an ancient, meticulously restored Tuscan farmhouse, standing side-by-side with a state-of-the-art winemaking cellar. Equipped with the most modern vinification technologies and a specialized, climate-controlled aging cellar, Belpoggio treats every grape with absolute precision, all while maintaining a strict commitment to eco-sustainable agriculture.

Critical Reviews

The nose sparkles with aromas of bing cherry, orange zest, wild fennel and new leather, and the palate is cohesive, with flavors of bright, tart cherries and strawberries, warm earth and citrus. The overall feel is emphatically sunny and energetic ~ 95 Wine Enthusiast

Black-cherry, violet and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied and composed young Brunello, with solid tannins in balance that frame the wine nicely. Best after 2027. ~93 James Suckling
