About the Wine

"Talamonti is one of my favorite producers in Abruzzo in terms of value and price. The style of winemaking is very consistent and readily offers great bang for your buck" ~Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Abruzzo’s winemaking tradition dates back centuries. Here’s an excellent value from central Italy!" ~Wine Enthusiast

"Abruzzo makes distinctive whites worth seeking out, particularly from the two flagship local varieties, Trebbiano and Pecorino. Alfredo and Antonella di Tonno offer great value with these two grapes." ~Wine Spectator

Talamonti was born in 2001 when the Redmont–Di Tonno family fell hard for a pristine patch of Loreto Aprutino. From day one, their mission has been obsession-level attention to detail: the right grape on the right slope, perfectly timed yields, and a cellar that treats every vintage like it’s headed for the spotlight.

Over the years, the estate has grown to 45 hectares of vineyard surrounding the winery, all perched 300 meters above sea level in the sun-soaked Tavo Valley. Here, Montepulciano and Trebbiano reign, but in 2004, the family planted Pecorino as an experiment—and struck gold. Today, that Pecorino is the star of Trabocchetto, a wine that channels the soul of the region into every sip.

Even the name is a nod to heritage. A “trabocco” is a centuries-old wooden fishing machine once common along Abruzzo’s Adriatic Coast—equal parts craftsmanship and ingenuity. Naming this wine after it is a promise: here’s something built with skill, history, and purpose.

Talamonti isn’t just making wine; they’re setting the bar for Abruzzo. And with Trabocchetto, they’ve bottled the coast, the hills, and the heartbeat of their land.

Tasting Notes

100% Pecorino. A brilliant pale straw color. A wonderful bouquet of white pulp fruit. Explosive flavors of ripe pear, renetta apple, ginestra flowers and jasmine accompanied by a gentle and refreshing acidity.

Critical Reviews

Clean and fruity white with aromas of white peaches, chopped apples, grapefruit and lemon curd. Fresh and medium-bodied with a creamy, juicy finish. Vegan. Drink now. ~90 James Suckling
