Domaine Henri Latour et Fils is a 37-acre estate owned and managed by brothers, Francois and Sylvan Latour, in Auxey-Duresses. They represent the 7th generation of growers. The vineyards— with vines that are 50 to 70 years old—are farmed sustainably using the lutte raisonnée philosophy, an approach that embraces using agrochemicals when only absolutely necessary. The fruit is hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard and again when it arrives at the Domaine via a sorting table. The vines and the grapes are cared for with all the respect they are due. The end result is a complex, quality Burgundy that also just happens to be a downright steal.

The estate has a rich heritage and tradition and their commitment to craftsmanship and winemaking philosophy further enhances the quality and finesse of their wines. Domaine Henri Latour et Fils has earned a stellar reputation and numerous accolades, and multiple 90+ scores, making their wines a must-taste for wine enthusiasts seeking a truly magnificent experience.

The short supply and global demand for quality red Burgundy mean the prices have been skyrocketing over the last decade. We only purchase selected Burgundies that meet our stringent criteria for quality and value and pass our taste tests. At our price, you can afford to fill in more than one empty spot in your cellar.

2022 is looking to be a great year in Burgundy. Decanter said, "Despite the (very) hot and dry season, 2022 wasn’t a typical année solaire, according to the verdicts of Burgundy’s winemakers, with quality and quantity to be found, many early-drinking options, but reds to lay down, too. Overall quality is very high for red wines. There is more concentration in 2022… even if you try to make wine for the future, they are showing quite well right now."

Aging: 10 months in 2 to 4-year-old French Oak, 100% barrel fermented

Red currant and cherry fruit, savory herbs, slight note of straw in the nose. Lots of fruit on the palate, cherry, and currant, tree bark flavors fashioned in an easy, bright, fresh wine; good+ length with soil complexity on the finish. A real overachiever!

A whisper of oak plays on the nose of this wine, accompanying ripe cherry. The palate adds a notion of tart, red berry plus rounded, balanced ripeness. Fine tannins frame and hold everything in an elegant embrace. ~91 Wine Enthusiast (v. 2018)
