About the Wine
"One wine that shines particularly bright in the Veneto is the mighty Amarone, where 'it is king,' made from only the best varietals in the region." ~ Robert Parker
When the world's most famous wine critic calls Amarone the "king," you listen—and Luciano Arduini is crafting some of the finest examples in Veneto.
This isn't just another Amarone; this is four generations of obsessive Italian winemaking perfection passed down from grandfather Gabriele, who started the family legacy in the 1940s in tiny Canal, Marano Valpolicella.
Today, father Luciano and son Andrea work as a dream team, blending traditional Veneto wisdom with cutting-edge modern techniques to create something truly special. Andrea brings serious credentials—Pisa enology graduate who's worked at over 16 wineries across four countries, from Italy's greatest regions to South Africa, Romania, and Greece. His philosophy? "Our wine is the source of joy, happiness, and friendship"—and you can taste that passion in every bottle.
Here's where the magic happens: grapes wither from September to January, concentrating flavors into pure liquid gold. After four months of patient drying, they crush in January with gentle destemming and slow 35-day fermentation that creates Amarone's legendary intensity.
One sip transports you straight to Verona's cobblestone streets and Venice's romantic canals—perfect for fireside winter nights when you want to escape to Italy without leaving home.
Aging: 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
60% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 5% Molinara. Ruby red color. Intense aromas on the nose. It has a soft and velvety texture with the scent of dried grapes. Expect to find sour cherry, Christmas spices, black pepper, and cloves. The wine finishes with a chocolate mocha and toasted hazelnut that makes you want to not share this bottle. Pair this wine with wild game, spit, any stewed meat, and mature cheeses.

What the Critics Said
THE PRODUCER
Luciano Arduini
Luciano Arduini is a distinguished winemaker from the Valpolicella region in northeastern Italy, renowned for producing exceptional Amarone wines. His family's winemaking heritage dates back to the 1940s when his grandfather, Gabriele Arduini, established the first vineyard in Marano di Valpolicella. In 1969, his father, Battista, expanded the estate by acquiring part of the land from the ancient Villa Banda Amistà. Today, Luciano and his son Andrea oversee the winery, which spans approximately 7 hectares within the Classico zone. They continue to honor traditional winemaking practices while embracing modern techniques. Their flagship Amarone, the Simison, is celebrated for its rich complexity and has received accolades such as a 98-point rating from Luca Maroni and a gold medal from Mundus Vini. The Arduini family remains deeply committed to sustainability and producing wines that embody the essence of Valpolicella
