The 2022 Malbec Tikal Amorio comes from Paraje Altamira in San Carlos. After ten months in oak barrels, with one-third in concrete vats, it features aromas of currant, black tea, rosehip and violet, with floral hints and touches of mint over a backdrop of wood. The vintage contributes to its complexity, presenting a firm, slightly concentrated palate with good juiciness and an appealing, long finish—a fragrant wine with excellent flavor. ~93 Vinous Media
Originating from two alluvial sites in Altamira, the 2022 Amorio fermented in stainless steel and concrete before undergoing elevage in barrique and concrete. It offers up Altamira's textbook aromatic profile of purple flowers and ethereal freshness, followed by a soft, rich, layered palate. It closes with an elegantly decadent finish lined with a fine bead of chalky energy. ~92 Wine Advocate
Rich blackberries, violets, chocolate and a touch of wet stone. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with a fluid center palate and firm, almost steely tannins. Tight and pretty long. Vegan. Better in one or two more years. ~92 James Suckling
This wine, blended from vineyards around Paraje Altamira, spends a year in French and American oak (70/30, half of the barrels new). Aromatically unique, with Sichuan-peppercorn florality and blackberry-liqueur richness, this wine's alcohol points up the lip-smacking tannins. Pour it next to roast pork belly with cracklings. ~92 Wine & Spirits Magazine
