Gary Andrus launched Archery Summit in 1993, driven by a passion for Pinot Noir and a belief in the untapped potential of the Willamette Valley. The founder of Pine Ridge Vineyards — where he made his name on vineyard-designate wines beginning in 1978 — Andrus built an estate across the Dundee Hills, one of Oregon's most respected sites for Pinot Noir. Arcus is one of its crown jewels: planted in 1973, set on some of the steepest slopes on the hill, and almost always the last block picked.

That patience shows. The 2023 vintage started cool and slow, then settled into a warm, even summer and one of the warmest Octobers on record — conditions that handed Willamette Pinot a rare polish: bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, and the structure to age.

Fermented with whole clusters, this is a layered, savory expression of the Dundee Hills. Aromas of blackberry, red currant, and raspberry jam meet crushed peppercorn, thyme, and baking spice. The palate is silky — cherry and raspberry framed by fine tannins — before a finish that's juicy yet savory. Drinking beautifully now, with a prime window of 2026–2029 and the stuffing to cellar through 2034.

The reason to buy isn't a number. It's the name on the label and the hill beneath the vines.
