About the Wine
The 2019 Harvest in Paso Robles is shaping up to be one of the best vintages on record. Paso was graced with a long and gentle growing season that featured a colder winter, a mild spring, and minimal heat spikes of 100+. The harvest was roughly two weeks later than those in recent years.
Wine Business tells us that the 2019 harvest gave the vines a "longer hang time" and these "near-perfect conditions–allows grapes to evenly develop rich color and more complex flavors." Overall, the majority of producers in Paso Robles are ecstatic about the 2019 vintage.
Iconic Paso producer, Daou, says, "the year 2019 produced possibly the greatest vintage DAOU Mountain has ever experienced." And that "the resulting wines are marked by elegance and power, with moderate alcohols and great acidity that promise excellent longevity."
Jeb Dunnuck, the authority for all Central Coast wines, echos these statements by calling the 2019 vintage "another incredibly successful vintage." He continues to inform readers that "the wines shine for their purity and freshness just as much as their richness and power."
While 2019 presented challenges in other California wine regions, Paso Robles was graced with one of its greatest growing seasons on record. There's no better time to jump on the Paso Robles bandwagon than now!
