This isn’t the first time we’ve told you about the 2016 Brunellos, and there’s a reason we’re working on offering as much of it to you as we can at the best prices. 2016 is considered the best vintage for the region ever, a 99-point vintage, according to Wine Enthusiast. NOW is the time to buy the 2016s. As they’re purchased by wine lovers and collectors who are clamoring to fill their wine racks and cellars with these lauded Tuscan bottles, the price will only go up.

The 94-point 2016 Visconti Brunello di Montalcino is absolutely worthy of filling wine racks and cellars. Both Italian wine critics Raffaele Vecchione and Decanter rate it 94 points, with Vecchione declaring the wine is “decisive and rich in character offering strength and precision of execution.”

The 100% Sangiovese that goes into these bottles comes from vines that are 35 to 40 years old. The vineyard was certified organic in 2018, meaning that in 2016 the vineyard was already farmed sustainability and organically, simply waiting for the certification that indicates Visconti has its eyes on the future.

We couldn’t be more excited to bring you this highly rated Brunello at the lowest price anywhere! And, if you need a little extra incentive to buy this collectible bottle, look to wine expert James Suckling who has been excited for this vintage even before its release.

If you ever wanted a Brunello di Montalcino for your cellar to age for decades, then buy the 2016 vintage when the wines come out in the market in January 2021,” says Suckling. “The 2016 vintage marks the second great year in a row for Brunello di Montalcino following the sensational 2015, which is currently on the market."

This wine is ready to open now. In fact, in his review, Vecchione said it would be “better in 2022.” That date is here, and so here’s what we suggest. Buy one bottle to open now. Decant it for at least an hour. Three hours would not be unreasonable. Drink in its beauty and put it to memory. Buy another bottle—or 5 (don’t forget we have free shipping on 6 or more bottles)—-to put away and drink years from now. Get to know this wine as it evolves in the bottle.

A reminder, we have the lowest price anywhere on this highly collectible wine, over 20% off, an eye-popping value for Visconti’s Brunello and any 2016 Brunello di Montalcino of this quality.
