One of the World’s Best Syrahs: 2018 Domaine JL Chave Hermitage Rouge

The 2018 Domaine JL Chave Hermitage Rouge is a wine from a family that's been producing wine and passing down knowledge for 16 generations of unbroken lineage. They know what they're doing and they're the best at it.
The wine was cultivated in a fantastic vintage. In 2018 the Northern Rhone had nearly perfect weather from June to September (harvest) which resulted in evenly ripe and healthy grapes. Jeb Dunnuck–aka the Rhone master–bestowed the vintage with a 97 point score. The second-highest mark of the last decade (99 points in 2015), which has produced a string of phenomenal vintages (15, 16, 17, 18).
There's 100 point potential here. Two scores from barrel samples tasting published by Jeb Dunnuck and Robert Parker rated the wine 98-100 and 97-100 respectively.
