Duckhorn Vineyards. Napa Cab. What’s that now? You’re already scrolling down to the bottom to click “Buy Now” on this wine Decanter calls “classic, quintessential Napa Cabernet?” (We here at BHW unanimously agree with that description!) But, we’ll give you a few more details, just in case you want to make us work for it.

For the 2019 Duckhorn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, winemaker Renee Ary chose from numerous vineyards onHowell Mountain as well as others such asRutherford and St. Helena, each one imbuing a markedly different flavor profile, and those profiles join together harmoniously in the wine. From the grapes nurtured in these lauded vineyards, she crafts a classic Napa Cab that is now iconic.

Co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards has spent over 45 years establishing itself as one ofNorth America’s premier producers of Napa Valley wines. Since then, Wine & Spirits has named Duckhorn aTop 100 Winery on ten separate occasions, and three of those years were 2019, 2020, and 2021. It’s clear to see thatDuckhorn is at the top of its game right now.

The2019 vintage was “near perfect” in Napa, according to Bloomberg, one that made “wines with great structure.” For Duckhorn, that translated into aterroir-driven wine with all the markers of great Cab, including thedusty Rutherford minerality that elevates Napa Cab to something ethereal.

This wine is still young, so decant before drinking, or put it away for several years as it continues to develop and grow beautifully nuanced, as Duckhorn’s reds always do. Or, buy more than one bottle - one for now and one (or two or three…) to put away.

If you didn’t scroll down immediately and hit “Buy Now,” and you need just a little more convincing, BHW has this iconic, quintessential Napa Cab from a near-perfect vintage for under $70 - which is an outrageous value for a wine that never disappoints from thebest vineyards that Napa has to offer.
