2018 Liquid Farm Golden Slopes Chardonnay

Today's wine is called 'Golden Slopes' and it earned this name for bright and rich flavors that will flow onto your palate. Drinking a bottle of this will have you convinced that you were in fact drinking drops of gold! Après-ski anyone?

The 2018 Liquid Farm Golden Slopes Chardonnay is a specially selected wine that is pulled from barrels that are exhibiting noteworthy richness. (You’ve heard of hand-harvested fruit, now you have heard of hand-harvested barrels) This wine is hand-picked from the best barrels to produce an exceptionally sensual wine that is fully reminiscent of the Côte d’Or.

This wine dazzles with a light bright yellow color in the glass. On the nose, there's plenty of ripe orchard fruit and just a touch of citrus zest. The mouthfeel of this wine is extremely generous the bright acidity gives it a much-needed backbone structuring the wine perfectly.

Liquid Farm is truly a project of passion. Owner Jeff Nelson noticed that he was constantly craving old-world wines, and leaving his new-world bottles largely untouched. So he took matters into his own hands and decided to make wine in an old-world style here in California.

This wine is exceptionally balanced, expressive, and, in true Burgundian fashion, shows promise in aging beautifully over the next decade. The next time that you feel like reaching into the cellar for an exceptional Californian Chardonnay, this is the bottle that you are going to wish was stocked up in your cellar.

This is one of my go-to’s for any winter seafood dish, particularly crustaceans and bouillabaisse. Otherwise, this bottle is perfect for slow jam RnB, mid-century classic novels, and self-reflection.
