Who deserves this applause? Elisabetta Foradori.This is one of those wines that cannot be separated from its winemaking family. It’s Elisabetta’s first wine, initially released in 1986. Now an iconic Italian vintner, she took the helm of her family estate after her father's early death. At first, she did it because she had to. But then, a passion for the vines and winemaking grabbed hold of her.
The grapes for this wine come from Trentino in Northern Italy, where Teroldego thrives in the alluvial, gravel, and pebble soils in the foothills of the majestic Dolomites. In the hands of the skilled Elisabetta and her son, those grapes become a wine with intense violet aromas, a fresh, flavorful palate, and masterfully developed tannins that WILL cause you to stop and applaud this beautiful wine. As Suckling raves, it has “enormous vitality at the firework-display finale!”
This Demeter-certified biodynamic wine is one all wine lovers must encounter at least once in their wine journey. It is Foradori's most structured, age-worthy wine and is just beginning to hit its stride. It can cellar for years to come.
