If your business wants a unique event to connect employees, clients, or potential customers, consider a professional virtual wine tasting. But, don’t just hire a “wine tasting expert,” hire an “expert wine taster.” Don’t hire a showman; hire a “know-man.”

Virtual Wine Tasting Experts

Unlike most so-called wine experts, Greg Martellotto is a master taster, a “know-man” about wine. He has tasted about 4,500 wines annually for close to 20 years.

Imagine how much he knows after tasting nearly 90,000 wines. Most sommeliers don’t come close to Greg’s uniquely skilled palate.

Greg grounds his passion for fine wine in value. He manages to achieve what other companies promise but rarely deliver: drinking better wine for less money.
Having worked in all parts of the wine industry, Greg knows all the secrets. He knows how to uncover great wine at fair prices. No mediocre or overpriced wine passes his exacting standards.

As an independent entrepreneur, he has an obsession for teaching others about the amazing world of wine.

The combination of his advanced tasting skills, knowledge of the wine world’s secrets, and a rigorous system ensures his clients get more than they pay for, every time.

He has developed intimate relationships with winemakers, winegrowers, and wine professionals worldwide, leading him to create:

Greg brings global wine treasures directly to clients without the price gouging.

Virtual Wine Tasting Philosophy

Virtual Wine Tasting Philosophy

Greg invites wine lovers from newbie to specialist into his wine universe. But, the virtual wine experiences are limited to:
  • Corporations
  • Executives
  • Non-profits
  • Alumni groups
  • Small businesses
  • Wealth managers
  • Industry members
  • High-net worth individuals

Past clients have hired Greg for virtual receptions, celebrations, seminars, in-home tastings, client and employee appreciation or engagement events, fundraisers, networking meetings, dinners, and more.

With each session of personally curated and customized wines, Greg shares his understanding, passion, and pleasure. At the end, guests can expect to leave more confident and knowledgeable about wine.

Presentations are professional, informative, and engaging. Your guests will increase their wine skills, so they can enjoy wine more and make better purchasing decisions.

Anyone can lead a wine tasting, just watch a few from big-box retailers. Greg doesn’t focus on drinking and entertainment.

He appreciates the winemakers and grape growers doing the hard work; their vision and passion for what they do, their respect for the land, and the processes of nature.

Not everyone can transmit the alchemy of creating wine, what it really takes to make magic in the glass. Greg’s expertise and dedication come through the screen, transferring his love of wine to event participants.

Virtual Wine Tasting Details

Each session lasts 60 to 90-minutes, with introductions, tasting, and “Ask a Wine Expert Anything About Wine” Q&A. Greg has found the Q&A highly engaging. Participants are encouraged to ask any wine-related questions.
Sessions are held by video conference via Zoom, so a strong Internet connection is required for streaming. You may want to run a test with your guests before the event.

A Zoom account is unnecessary, but if someone does not have the Zoom app, they’ll be prompted to download it.

Once you choose the participants and the date, Greg sends a confirmation email. The email contains the link, meeting ID, and password for joining the webinar.

After clicking the link, another prompt will request access to the microphone and camera. Select “Join with Video” and “Join Audio” in the app’s bottom left corner.
    Participants should have:

    • wine glasses
    • corkscrew
    • drinking water
    • ice bucket
    • dump container
    • paper and pen
    • neutral crackers for palate cleansing

To get ready, check Internet connections, chill down the white, sparkling, and rosé wines, and open the reds.

It’s easy to book a tasting. Contact us at info@bighammerwines.com with the following information:

    • Contact name, phone number, email address
    • Purpose
    • Number of guests and confirmation of age
    • Date and time
    • Shipping location
    • Desired topic or wines
    • Estimated budget

Call at least two weeks ahead, so we can send the wines in time for the event.
Depending on the budget and theme, Greg can suggest topics if you don’t have something specific in mind.

Go exclusive and pricey, choose everyday favorites, focus on a range of wines, or special-occasion wines. Just tell us the number of participants and the goal, and Greg will do the rest. Add some Atypical Dry Roasted Hazelnuts from Oregon for more tasting pleasure.

Ask your guests to come with open minds, curiosity, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to learn and ask questions.

A Virtual Wine Tasting Experience Worth Remembering

    Why a virtual wine tasting?
    • Easy participation from the comfort of home
    • An event arranged according to your needs
    • Gain relevant and useful wine knowledge
    • Learn how to talk about wine in social situations
    • Understand tasting techniques and tips
    • Enjoy the pleasure of savoring unusual or iconic wines
    • Professional wine selection
    • Personal attention and interaction
    • Connect with the stories of winemakers, histories of vineyards, and local culture

Greg will create a selection of delicious wines based on the theme, taste preferences, and budget, from inexpensive to super lux. As a top wine importer and distributor, he sources all his wines himself, no third parties.

Hire an articulate, knowledgeable, reliable, and polished wine professional: a “know-man.” Don't hire a novice wine drinker to save money. You’ll regret it.

Greg’s mission is to expand the world of wine for wine drinkers. He wants everyone to drink better wine and pay less for it!

Contact Greg at Big Hammer Wines for more information and to book an event.
